Who knows how to change the system temporary folder in Windows XP? I did remember that but have forgotten. The problem is I want to install USB 2 driver, but the installation fails somewhere in the beginning. I was told the exe file unpacks itself into c:\windows\temp and then can't find the files because of a too long path.
Currently my Temp folder is here C:\Windows\Temp, and I want to change it to c:\Temp

Thanks much for your tips!

I believe that the chipset drivers contain the USB port drivers; you must update/install your chipset drivers. The temp file has nothing to do with them.

ranchhand,

What do you mean by chipset drivers?
If my MB is VIA-based, does it mean I have to install the latest update of 4-in-1 VIAdrivers?
I did it - no changes.
Or, did you mean something else?
