I am trying to back one of my games up with safedisk 2 protection. I use alcohol 120% and loaded the image. I mounted the image on my virtual drive and it worked fine. I then burn it. But when i open it after it is finished, there is only an unplayable soundtrack and no game files whatsoever. Please help

what i do to "back up games" (lol) is i use my "legal" copy of WINISO and make an image of the cd using that. I place this image on my desktop. Then, i burn the iso... then delete it from my desktop. Simple as that. You can you WINISO to create, unzip the iso's.

Here's a question: If you try creating an image of the burned CD and mounting it, does it work?

Maybe you'll just have to hang on to the ISOs for backups--you can always burn an ISO to a CD as a file rather than as an image :-)

Get Nero burning rom.

Start it up, close the wizzard click File then Burn Image... Find the *.iso file click Open.. A dialog box will pop up asking some stuff about wha tkind of immage it is and how it should be burned.. Anyhow on there you will see a little check-box saying RAW. Tick it and then click OK. You're set to go.

NOTE: Your CD-Writer needs to support RAW DAO modes. Plextor, LiteOn and ASUS are one of those drives. Usually any Phillips drives and or 100% Phillips based should work as well. Allways try to burn immage onto a re-writable CD first to check it. Also some games might check to see if CD is original you will have to get a media ghosting utillity (http://www.elby.ch/en/products/clone_cd/index.html) This product will hide CD-R media from any checks and report it as an originall instead. (Also a good tool besides BlindWrite - http://www.vso-software.fr/ to use for making legal copies that you are entiteled to).
