I have a Sony Vaio with the Sony DVD RW DW-U12A burner. I am trying to create a backup copy of all of my digital pictures onto a DVD, but am not having any luck. In the past, I created a large "data DVD" with MP3 files, but cannot remember how I did it. How can I copy around 1.5GB of pics onto a DVD?
Thanks

Depends on what software you're using. Windows explorer won't, as far as I'm aware, burn to DVDs directly, best option is to you use something like Nero or Easy CD/DVD. Don't know if there are any freeware progs out there but I'm sure Google should turn up something.

Hi cdogg44,
First, I agree with johnr. Look here for
Description of the CD-ROM recording in Windows XP (MSKB 279157)
I have a Sony VAIO too. The pre-installed softwares included free program for burning DVDs. What's the model of your VAIO?

I have a Sony Vaio model number PCV-RZ24G.
I have tried doing it through Windows (which burns cds for me really well) but it didn't want to mess with the dvd at all. I guess now I know why. Thanks

1. For the specs, look here
2. For the pre-installed softwares, look here

You can use Sony Click to DVD or Sony SonicStage to write to DVDs instead of XP CD.

How can I use Click to DVD or Sonicstage to burn data? I'm trying to create a large backup of files (pictures, mp3's...).
Thanks
