Comment: I've got win xp and am using an ntfs file system. I want to use a boot disk to get to the dos prompt. I can do this but my c:\ is not recognised. How can I get around this? Please help.

Reply: Don't think you can unless you boot from Win XP CD or get XP boot disks (6 I think). NTFS is not recognizable by DOS, only Win xp, 2000, NT. Try booting from your Win XP cd to a dos prompt.

Reply: www.winternals.com and www.sysinternals.com have software that will allow you to *read* NTFS partitions if you boot into DOS. To write to NTFS partitions, you will have to buy their software.
