How to boot in to dos?

Could someone please tell me how to boot in to dos before my system boots in to the OS. Btw I am using XP as an OS!!

There is NO DOS in XP other than Safe Mode Command Prompt. Hit F8 key before Windows load to get there.

Is it possible to make a win boot cd instead of a boot disk. So I can get the prompt, so I can format my HDD outside of windows?

The XP CD is bootable and includes all the required tools.
NT4, NT5(W2K), XP & W2K3 are all-in-one O/S and do not require the use of MS DOS.

sorry. I figured it was on the same topic. I know I can boot with the win cd. But I want a boot to a command promt with all the ol' Fdisk, CHdisk, format commands.

Kland, That's alright. I'll make an exception for you. Go HERE to get Windows 98 SE OEM file. This will creat the bootable floppy disk with the ol' Fdisk, CHdisk, format commands.
