Dear group:
I am trying to block ports on my computer. I have Norton Internet Security but it will not allow me to specify ports. I only has a list of preselected ports.

What ports are you trying to block, and why?

Hi Jennifer SUMN:
There is someone trying to get into my computer using a certain port. I think it is 63659. I would like to block this.
How can I do it without installing a different firewall produce?
Thanks.

Read the instructions again that came with Norton. I don't have it but I would not believe that a firewall would not block all ports. You must have some settings wrong. What kind of a network are you on, home school, work, dial up or lan or maybe domain.

Run the "Sheilds Up" or "PC Flank tests" (you'll find them in Google).
If you have a firewall they should all be blocked (stealthed in fact, so that they don't even appear to exist to the outside world). It's not usually necessary to "pick them off".
If someone is trying to get through when the are open (in use) then that is what the firewall should prevent, without a DIY operation.

.. and thx for taking the trouble to pop back (so many posters on here just vanish without trace LOL).
Summary: I have read all the posts but am unfamiliar with blocking ports. I use Zonealarm free and behind a router, but GRC says port 113 is closed, not stealthed. I have read about "create a rule" but haven't...
