Hello Friends
I want to deny access to a particular site (particular ip)on a machine. The problem is that I want to automate the whole thing. i.e. a program should do this ip blocking automatically when it is getting installed rather than making manual changes. How can we do this if the browser is IE 6 ? The OS is windows XP

Go to tools, Internet Options, Security, and highlight restricted sites and put in the website you want to restrict there.

do a search on how to edit your hosts file and blocking particual ips. Another suggestion is Netcaptor which use domain blocking and popup captor which pretty much take care of the problem, the only thing is there's no access restriction for both of these solutions, meaning that any user can change the hosts file and the netcaptor fix. There was another way I just can't remember. Also I hear Norton Internet Privacy has some great tools that do the same, and it even has password protection.
