I am not sure if this is what you mean...
start > control panel > power options > hibernate tab and put a tick in the box to turn on hibernation....
Windows XP and hibernate application do not work that well and causes lots of other issues.

That's right. Also, hibernate (& standby) are features that were developed for laptops/notebooks...if you're asking about a desktop system, it would be best to keep it disabled. If you're concerned about power savings, manually configure your power scheme settings.

no, i didn't mean to say that i m using windows xp sp3.there is n hobernate option in it. i think we hav to make changes in registry.. thats what my question is...
