Hey All!
Just curious, what is the longest you guys have run windows without:
BSOD, Reboot, CTRL+ALT+DELETE, CTRL+SHIFT+ESCAPE or using task manager by other means?
10 minutes on Windows 2000 Adv. Srv. (3 minutes after install it became infected with a virus, 7 minutes later it crashed internet connection and network so I unplugged machine and installed linux.)6 days on Windows XP Professional.
Windows 95/98/Me less than 2 days.33 days on SuSe 9.0 Linux. (Had to power off because I moved to another province).
23 days on SuSe 9.0 on 120mhz/32mb (had to power off today because I put in a newer network card, 100mbps instead of 10mbps).
Times from anyone else?
David
Spyware, Viruses, Blue Screens, Price. Many great reasons to switch to Linux :D

My XP box runs days on end without having to reboot it or cold stop it. So does my kid's ME machine for that matter. Actually so do the 6 I recently built for a local radio station some of which were salvaged clunkers.
Dunno what your issue is.

Haven't had a bsod on either machine in months. As to task manager I use it frequently for maintenance or program checking.

14 days or so, was downloading films and the like. Plus testing my system.
CPU temp reminds the same 32c idle, 37c under load. Now I reboot once a week, and do the usual clean up.
Alls fine with it.
Hope this helpsThe world is full of willing people, some are willing to work, others are willing to let them; just a thought!

(OS) Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 2 (5.1 - 2600), (installed for) 24w 5d 5h 39m, (uptime) 7w 1d 6h 57m 29s, (record) 7w 1d 6h 57m 29s (set on 27.02.2005 01:29 using WinXP)
Great OS for my purposes.
