Comment: It all started when i was downloading files using opera running under sanboxie. I hibernated the machine and on restart i got messages of delayed write failure. I rebooted the computer to see if it wud fix it but alas, all that i got was blue screen including in safemode. so i booted from a cd and ran chkdsk, but after fixing a couple chkdsk quit abruptly. i tried rebooting into safe mode again and it now hung at mup.sys for over 5 mins It was very tempting to power off and reboot, but saw the HDD light glow continously on my laptop. so i waited patiently and finally to my relief it booted automatically and all was well. moral of the story: i shud have run chkdsk right at the first time when windows was reporting delay write failures. i believe the culprit for the cause of the delayed write was the sandboxied + opera combination....and the delay write failure was to my primary hard disk. posting this just in case it happens to help somebody

I believe the culprit is a failing HDD. Backup data before you loose it all. Then replace the drive before the laptop becomes a paperweight.
