How do you uninstall msn messanger

I tried to uninstall msn messanger just like the original message states to do.(oct. 01 form)- Navigate to C:windowsinf, Open sysoc.inf....well I did that but the file is almost blank. There is very little text in there. Not to mention none of the text talked about earlier. I used the show hidden files and folders option. What now? I'm getting very angry at this msn messanger. Does nobody know how to uninstall it???? Please help.

copy and paste this, then go to start, run : RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

Get XP Anti-spy program.It's free.You can find it at WebAtaack.com under freeware>Security-Privacy>cache and cookie.The home page is in german.But I have the program in english.I beleive there is an option to download english version.It is 26kbs,and is a versatile program.I had the same problem you have,getting rid of that crappy messenger service.Someone in this forum recommended this program,so I installed it.Sure enough,xp anti-spy un-installed my windows/msn messenger.It's easy and fast.Hope this helps.JB
