reboot the computer into safe mode. log in as administrator, click run, type "control userpasswords2" now select your user name and click reset password.

Procedures are specific to the make and model of the computer, and I'm not sure if I'm supposed to help with BIOS passwords.

Look on the motherboard for a CMOS RESET jumper.

"pentium 3/196mb ram"

Really? XP with just 196MB RAM? It must run fabulously! lol

What exactly is a "boot log in"? I doubt it's for the BIOS so if it's not for Windows, what is it for?

Whatever it is, you presumably needed to use it every time you started the computer.
How did you therefore manage to suddenly forget it?

We don't usually help with passwords because we are unable to prove ownership.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
