how do you remove systray icons?

How do you remove icons from systray (hide) I tried hiding them from properties but it is useless as you can find it again if you click the arrow button. I want to remove the icon but still have it running in the background. Please reply.

That will only be possible if the program that is running gives you that as an option.
You haven't said what programs or why you don't want them to show. Did you know that you can stop systray loading during boot. Never tried it though, could cause some stability problems.

That is what hiding the icons is. They are still there, but behind the arrow button.

not sure if this works,but worth a look. http://www.hip.com-download.net/ also search google for; set systray icons hidden with desktop icons you can set the attributes to hidden, so there should be a reg hack to hide the systray icons hidden also.

start->control panel->taskbar and start menue, click on customize, click on what icon you want to work with to highlite it and it will ask you to always hide check it and ok
