One way or another I have got myself in the position where each time I sign onto the Internet I am on a Virtual Private Network rather than than through my ADSL modem.
The VPN only shows in Network Locations when I am on the net.It does not show when only Windows is running.
I have tried a number of restore points but they make no difference.
It wouold be appreciated if someone could explain how to disconnect this VPN feature.
I have looked at other postings on this issue but they have gone unanswered.I have also looked at the Windows Help site and found nothing I could understand.
Thanks for any help that may be forthcoming.

You disable VPN in XP by right clicking MY network places then that will open up your connections. delete the vpn connection (it will be a cloud icon. the other place it will probably be even though you deleted the connection will be in iexplorer | tools |internet options | connection tab | in the dialup and vpn window delete that and your done :)

Timb.
Thanks for quick response.
Have done as you said but the VPN - as Internet(2) - re-establishes itself when you sign back on to the Net.
You cannot delete it without being signed on as it does not show in Network Connections and will only delete when signed on by right clicking the icon. If you click on the delete task in the windows panel it says you cannot delete while connected! so perhaps my right clicking is not fully deleting the connection.

Any furher help much appreciated.
