use your boot disk to start dos. format your hard drive. type C:format when done assuming your rom drive is D type D:\setup this should run the setup program if not burn a cd with xp and the start up files on it then and boot from the cd. hope it helps

killa setup.exe will give u a "can not run in Dos" error when trying to install xp

With all my respect, you seem a little lost here... So I suggest you give Microsoft's Support a call and ask them. They will guide you thru the steps to take.

Just insert the Xp CD and start setup by reaching d:\i386\winnt.exe

All Windows XP CD's are bootable. You need to enter your computers BIOS setup utility by pressing DEL down on startup. Under advanced CMOS setup there willl be a section to change boot device priority. Set CD-ROM as first, Floppy as second and IDE-0 as last. Or any order, but CDROM as first.
Put the XP cd in the drive and exit the bios saving changes.
Computer reboots, and press something when it says press anykey to boot from CD.
Installation will start.

The only reason a win xp cd wont be bootable is because its a WAREZ copy.
