use your boot disk to start dos.
format your hard drive.
type C:format
when done assuming your rom drive is D
type D:\setup
this should run the setup program
if not burn a cd with xp and the start up files on it then and boot from the cd.
hope it helps

Sven,

With all my respect, you seem a little lost here... So I suggest you give Microsoft's Support a call and ask them. They will guide you thru the steps to take.

No Poeple.....you don't need to.

Just insert the Xp CD and start setup by reaching d:\i386\winnt.exe

***(D=cd drive)

Internet_Xpert is right listen on him. But if you still have problems, make your cd bootable...

All Windows XP CD's are bootable.
You need to enter your computers BIOS setup utility by pressing DEL down on startup. Under advanced CMOS setup there willl be a section to change boot device priority.
Set CD-ROM as first, Floppy as second and IDE-0 as last.
Or any order, but CDROM as first.

Put the XP cd in the drive and exit the bios saving changes.

Computer reboots, and press something when it says press anykey to boot from CD.

Installation will start.

cheers

The only reason a win xp cd wont be bootable is because its a WAREZ copy.
