Hello,

I'm getting great tips from people based on my original problem, but since I'm so inexperienced with computers, I keep having more questions...haha.

How do I turn safe mode on, then run System Restore, and then get out of safe mode...

Sorry for this basic question, but you're dealing with a rookie here.

press f8 on startup just after the bios posts and you'll get a menu asking how you wish to boot.
