G'day,

Machine Amd Duron 1000MHz
20Gb HDD
Intergrated LAN & Sound & Video
Motorola internal modem
Windows XP Home (2600) installed

I would like to add a second hard drive from my old computer to this new computer. The hard drive on the old computer is running Win95c plus all my other software.

I want to use the drive with XP for work and the drive with 95c for personal use.

What do I need to do to be able to do this ???

Thanx

Windows95 has a problem running on computers with AMD processors over that high of CPU MHz. Microsoft has a patch but I could never get it to work.

To dual boot you must partition your hard drive into two partitions and load operating systems on both partitions. I don't think you want to do this. Go to tigerdirect.com and look for a device called a TRIOS. Trios is an IDE hard drive disk selector device, which can be placed into a PC's 5.25-inch bay, that enables end users to boot easily from a choice of up to three different or same operating systems on "three separate hard drives". Simple to install, and just as easy to use! A great tool for the server room or home PC with multiple users.

If you want to use two drives with two preinstalled OS's that both think they're C:\ you will have to use some sort of boot manager like that included with Partition Magic.

If you're happy to reinstall one or the other Os's you can use the built in XP boot manager.

If you're happy to reinstall XP then use your old drive as C:\ and it will set it up automatically.

If your XP drive is FAT32 info on how to install 9x after XP can be found at

Hope that helps
