Solved How do I restore start button, desktop icons and toolbars?

January 29, 2015 at 15:04:22
Specs: Windows XP
When I sign on, my toolbars, desktop icons, start button are missing. By using control/alt/delete I can access Task Manager and run my email and browser from there. But I shouldn't have to. Thx. (If memory serves, this one is running XP but I can't click "START" to verify. Pretty sure tho.)

✔ Best Answer
Try this:
Open the task manager > File > New Task > type explorer.exe > press enter.

If that doesn't help and the problem was recent it might be easiest to run System Restore to a date just before it happened. You will retain all your own stuff.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
