My word icon has vanished? how do I replace so I can access word program.

Open my computer. Locate the icon you want. Right click on it and choose copy.
Right click on your desktop. Choose the paste shortcut option.

Start>all programs>ms office>copy ms word icon and paste it on desktop

look in your recycle bin and undelete it.

It's not so much an "icon" that you want but a shortcut to the program
(which will pick up an icon).

Search for the file winword.exe which will probably be in:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office

Double clicking winword.exe should start Word, if so make a desktop shortcut to it.
