You should first try uninstalling these applications in the Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.

Thanks, but I've already done that. Do I have to remove MSN from the software list?
I found a way to get rid of MY WEB SEARCH by simply adding IE as the default in "Manage Search Providers." I already had IE as my search provider, but it wasn't on the list. After I added it I still get a search box in the same top right area but it now says"All the Internet." I have no idea what that means.

No you shouldn't have to remove MSN. Sounds like you might still have the toolbar running in the background? Are you sure its off your pc?

If you’re wondering how you can delete the extra toolbar in your IE window, the secret lies in changing the IE settings. You only have to right-click on the internet explorer toolbar and look for the unwanted toolbar. Simply click on it and the annoying toolbar won’t bother you again.
Another Windows XP help tip is to uninstall the toolbar from the program. This Windows XP help option is relatively easier and solves your issue quickly.

Expand on ‘Add/Remove Programs’ under the ‘Control Panel.’ Choose the program and find the toolbar from the ‘Currently Installed Programs’ list. Now click ‘Remove’. You may be prompted with a message that says ‘Are you sure you want to uninstall this program?’ You don’t need any Windows XP help to figure that out.

Restart your system to allow the changes to take effect. You are better off without the annoying toolbar
