how do i reinstall ide controller driver

Specs: Windows Vista

For several weeks now i have been trying to hook up my Compaq Presario V6000 to my HDTV, it did work for a while but then stopped. I have today ran a report on my Norton 360 which tells me that A2POHRHP IDE controller has error 39 and now has a yellow exclamation mark in device manager. would this be the reason that i now cannot connect my laptop to my HDTV and watch films through it?

When it stop working did u receive any message? I don't think this is the reason why u can't connect it to hdtv ,Go to device manager and reinstall ide controllers(u must restart the system).

1st of all, get rid of norton & replace it with something decent.

2nd, the ide controller has nothing to do with your hdtv issue, regardless, the drivers should be installed. you need to know the exact model number (v6000 is generic), then you can download the proper driver:
