How do I Refromat using XP?

use a 9x boot disk if you converted to ntfs, you will need "delpart.exe" to get rid of that partition

Hi,
Well, you could use PQMagic 6 or 7 to do that, it's will format your whole harddrive. Keep in mind that when you are using PQmagic the formatting time are very longer then the fdisk. But for me i referred PQmagic.

Just try to use a system disk or a floppy disk, windows 9x and try to boot your computer with it... and format it... just like the old days of DOS

Nope Ronald that won't work if it was an NTFS disk drive. Sorry,, in the old days you would have been right but in this case the best thing is to go with fred

I try to do the same thing (get rid of XP) but when i boot from 98 disk i can't format/fdisk. I get an error like mh HD is read only! i use fat 32. Win xp cd can fdisk/format but when i exit and boot in 98 it says that there is no partition there and i have to fdidk (which i do and get the read only error again) Any ideas?
