How do I recover Overwritten Files

Specs: Windows XP, 2 GB

I Was going to open a file but accidentally Saved over the file instead of Opening. I am working in WordPerfect 12. Please Help I am in big trouble if I can not recover that File

I have read that and tried all that was suggested short of talking to professionals and I could not get the overwritten File.

Where was the file stored? On the HD?

Try checking your Temp files. Look for files about the same size with the TMP ending. Also look for files that start with ~

Word Perfect and Winword use temp files while you have the document open. Sometimes they do not go away when you close the file.

I've saved a lot of VIPs at the company I used to work for by checking the temp files.

Check C:\Windows\Temp, C:\Temp and C:\Documents and settings\YourProfile\Local Settings\Temp.

It's a shot.
