Revo must have gone a little too far, eh?

It's not always wise to use third party uninstallers when there is a perfectly good one already provided by the OS (it uses the uninstaller installed by the program, in this case Firefox).

Try this:

Use a manual method to reset TCP/IP

"Doin' right ain't got no end." Cap'n Red Legs

The status bar was removed from Firefox 4 and above, it's now called add on bar and can be enabled by right clicking and putting a check mark beside it.

You always have the built in Internet Explorer browser in XP, whether you were using it or not.
That should connect to the internet fine, unless Revo Uninstaller messed something up. Download Firefox with that.

@ Leroi, Revo works in 4 steps assuming the OP selected the most complete removal option: 1.) Create a restore point, 2.) Run the program's uninstallation wizard (just like Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs), 3.) Scan for and optionally delete leftover files/folders, 4.) Scan for and optionally delete leftover registry entries.

@ MrsMac, If you're going to use Firefox 3.6 again, check the Status Bar option in the View menu. If the View menu isn't showing, hold Alt+V, or right-click an empty area of the toolbar and enable Menu Bar.

As Leroi said, the Status Bar was renamed the Add-on bar in FF 4. It no longer has the website status and progress bar and this Add-on bar is disabled by default. You can read this article about making FF 4 (and FF5) look more like FF 3.6 by making some GUI adjustments and installing add-ons:

One thing mentioned that relates to your query is the Status-4-Evar add-on that converts the Add-on bar to function more like the previous Status bar, with further customization options.

Apologies if I don't respond to your reply immediately. I don't check this site daily, but you're welcome to PM me as a reminder.
