Well the floppy drive doesn't open like a cdrom. It allows a floppy to be inserted and when the (eject) button is pushed it pops out the floppy.

If you mean see the files on the floppy use windows explorer.

There is no door on a floppy drive. Just a spring loaded dust cover covering the slot where you insert the disk. Just push the disk against the cover and it will move back revealing the slot where you put the disk. Just push it in till it clikcs into place. You press the eject button when you are finished and the disk pops out. It is just like pushing a letter through a letter box.

However, the disk will only go in one way. The part with the metal slider first and the cutt-off corner to the right,

If you doubleclick on My Computer, is there shown a drive A or B?
I'm asking, because the current computers mostly do not have any floppy drive. So what you see, is maybe a dummy, that cannot be opened.

The original poster should always write the last response !!!
Let us know, if the problem is solved !!!
