How do I make a Ramdisk?

I used to do this with DOS and Windows 95, there was a file called ramdrive.sys and you just had to add a line in config.sys which would create a ramdisk of specified size at boot time. But now I am using WinXP and it doesn't use config.sys so I am wondering if it is still possible to create a ramdisk, and if so how? I searched on google and it appears there are programs to do this, but I was hoping I could do it without buying any program. Anyone know?

Hi Archie You got problems? Just pop ya xpcd in and start up and take it from there. Xp is entirely different to 98 mate, well apart from the bugs of course lol. Wolfey
