How do I log on as administrator???

everytime i try to run norton antivirus and scan, i get a msg antivirus\tasks\mycomp.sca file not found. so i went to symantec support and there they asked to restart and log on as administrator and change a few settings. Please let me know what to do. Thx

Why not ask the admin?
I am not trying to be an idiot. Seriously ask the admin.
But heres your ans.
The default user set up in WinXP is always set up as an administrator, and unless a password was explicitly set during setup, there won't be one. If you go into Control Panel | User Accounts, you should be able to see the entire list of accounts and their respective permissions.
Summary: Ok...I admit that this is a very "beginner" type of question....but...for the life of me, I can't remember how to do this... I have installed XP Pro on my laptop and when I go the my friend's company ...
