A few months ago I downloading Windows Steady State. At first I liked how it took care of my computer. I had set it to get Microsoft updates each night at 3 am. One night I was up at 3 am and just before it shut down my computer to restart, an info box popped up giving two (2) choices: the first was pre-chosen, to change my settings; the second choice was to save my settings. I choose to save my settings. Who would want there setting changed back each night?

Anyway it got me to thinking that if I’m not been awake to catch this action, it’s changing my settings each night. And, I began to notice that there were other things happening over night. Documents that I would alter, would be restored. Just yesterday evening, I decided to dump all my Adobe, five (5) programs, all back on my computer today.

I have sent email after email to Microsoft about this problem. with no response. Yesterday afternoon I received an email from MSN Live, routing me to a Microsoft support website. To start, not even asking what my problem was, they want my credit card numbers and it would be $59/hour.

I want control of my computer back. When I try to remove Windows Steady State, an info box pops up with, “Windows Steady State cannot be removed as long as Windows Disk Protection is enabled”. I can’t open Windows Steady State to disable Windows Disk Protection. Somewhere along the line the desktop icon has disappeared. Sometimes I think that there just might be a conspiracy going on, but I don’t believe in conspiracies.

Can you help, I am at my wit’s end.

Thank you.

Try this Delete C:\cache.WDP

In Task Manager

end processes Bubble.exe Sctsvc.exe

Delete Folder C:ProgramFiles\WindowsSteadyState
