I have recently got a virus through MSN Messenger version 6.2. This virus is called 'C:/titanic.jpg.gif', but it also says 'WARNING Hidden extension.pif'. The anti-virus software i have installed is Grisoft AVG Free Edition for Windows, but it cannot find or therefore destroy it, so how do i do this?

try going to http://securityresponse.symantec.com/ and scroll down to "virus definitions", then click the link to "online virus and security check". it will open a new window, in which you must click the "go" button, and then click the "start" button under "virus scan". good luck!

some times virus / spy / adware run in the background of windows, so u cant delete it cause the files in use. press ctrl, alt, del, and see if anything remotley like "titanic" is listed. if it is, end the process, and try deleting it.
but really i would recomend buying a becent virus scanner, like norton. £40 spent now might not look so daft if you have 2 replace ur comp and all ur hard work!
dean!
