how do I decrease my mailbox size

Specs: Windows 24.02.2010
I am a novice - don't know the meanings of many words used to describe how to fix this problem. Supposedly I have used 54% of my space. Don't know how it got this way! How do I fix it? Please define all terms you might use. I really must have an answer in black and white terms. I have microsoft windows XP, and a Dell computer with a sticker that says, intel inside pentium 4. I don't know what "tags" mean.

What email account do you use Yahoo, GMail, Hotmail, or Outlook/Outlook Express? Are you having trouble deleting old and read emails?

Try that for a solution, you will be amazed at the results.

Your e-mail question sounds like you are using Outlook for some reason...probably because you you felt you had to becaue it came from your ISP.

I would suggest you open a yahoo, gmail or hotmail account, as they have unlimited inbox size, at least yahoo does, so you never have to delete anything from there if you don't want.

Some HELP in posting on plus free progs and instructions Cheers

I have never used Outlook Express. I just use the e-mail that comes with my service. What is really weird is that the space I used was only 16% or so, and then it jumped to over 50%.
I do not know how to stop people from sending me e-mail on the address I have had for a couple of years.
Why did my percentage of mailbox usage jump so fast? I have a grandson that uses my computer. Could he have done something to use up my space? My e-mail address is on all of my business cards, letterhead, etc. It would be really difficult and expensive to try to change my e-mail address. I NEVER had this problem until just a week or so ago.

I have a lot of "favorite" websites. Do you think this has used up my space?

I will sit down tonight and delete all of my e-mails and see what happens. I REALLY appreciate advice from anyone. I am a REAL DUMMY when it comes to all of this.

Thank you in advance for all of your help.
