I only have 1 user on my computer, and thats me, so I used the default admin account, disabled the guest accout, and didn't create any other accounts. How can I change the default User "Administrator" to a personalized name??

You can't change it... That's Windows XP Default Account... The only option is to create a new user account with administrator privileges and rename it as you wish! XP ROCKS!!!

Sorry, but that's wrong. It's simple to change the name of the built-in administrator account: Navigate to Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> Computer Management --> Local Users and Groups --> Local Users You'll see a list of the current XP user accounts. Right-click on the built-in admin account and select Rename. Enter a new name & you're done. Cheers

Supposedly, it's better security from hackers if you don't change it. If you're the only user, you automatically have admin control; but it's another layer of protection against hackers getting system control. I figure they must be talking about the less experienced hackers. Nevertheless, less is less. :)

I'm trying to remove games from my pc windows xp home ed. I try to do this manually and delete the folders but i can't they are write protected by a default administrator account. I created a second admin account but still can't get the access to delete these folders. it is still protected by the default admin
