How can I use my tv as a clone monitor

Specs: Windows XP
I want to be able to view my computer screen on both my monitor and tv either at the same time or seperately depending on my particular preference at that time.
My nephew got on the internet and found a way to set up my system to do this for me.
I recently had a glich and had to reinstall XP so I lost the ability to do it, and can't figure out what he did.
Right now my nephew is in Afganistan and can't help me and I wouldn't want to bother him with it, as he has more important things to do.
I'm talking about a true cloned display with everything the same, icons, windows, the pointer, everything the same thing with both screens the monitor and tv showing the exact same thing able able to turn one or the other on and off, switch back and forth at will.
I know how to extend my desktop to the tv, but that's not what I want.

The connections ought to be there still. Does the TV connect to the video card that the monitor is connected to or is there a usb device?

Problem solved at a local coputer store.
There is a clone mode deeply buried in the nVidea properties section.
