How Can I Uninstall FLASH in IE6??

Hi All. Well I just had IE6 crash due to a problem with flash. Then I just realized that the only thing that Flash is useful for, is to facilitate ADS, and banners and other garbage. Well I 'think' that Flash is only used in Internet Explorer, and I don't ever 'use' it besides in this app, so I would like to get rid of it. I went into the Control Panel> Add/Remove Programs and I couldn't find the app at all? Is it integrated part of Internet Explorer 6 that already comes pre-installed with XP Pro?? Are their really any downsides to getting rid of flash?
IF I can't un-install it via the Add/Remove panel, then how do I do so? I also tried the Internet Options in the control panel, but nothing in there.

Courtney, Flash is from MACROMEDIA and is an ActiveX component that is installed into EI5 and above by downloading it. It is usually downloaded when a particular website demands to be seen with Flash.
