The best way is probably to buy a router. Linksys makes a pretty good one and it is easy to setup. Another way and a cheaper way is to buy a hub and connect the dsl into the uplink port and then connect each of the computers into the hub... but I do not know how many ip addresses you can have... so that might not work too well...

What you want to do is get yourself a DSL/Cable Router and a switch and a couple of CAT5 cables

connect the phone line to the DSL
DSL to the Router
Router to the Switch
Switch to the computers

and thats it ;)

Get a Linksys BEFSR41 Router You can get one for less than $70.00 and you just plug your dsl modem into it and plug your computers into it and in 5 minutes you are ready to go. You do not nead a seperate switch it's built into the router.

There are other brands of router too but I prefer the Linksys for it's ease of use and have never had a problem with their products.

Using a 2nd NIC in one machine and a Proxy server is even cheaper. AnalogX's Proxy does the job for free. There are others.

I have a server and three computers on my lan, with a cable connection. Since we are too cheat to buy a router, we have two nics in the "server", and run the internet into one of them. The other nic goes out to the hub, and the rest of the computers go into the hub.

I call it a "server" because it's only a 233 mhz pentium with 16 mb of simm.

i wouldn't call that computer a "server"

go with the dsl/cable router, much more efficient
