system restarting it's self severaly.

download the appropriate drive diagnostic tool for your brand of drive and run it from a bootfloppy or bootable CD. Your drive may have data corruption that can be recovered or it may have unrecoverable faults and the diagnostic tools will help you work out which.

If the only symptom is the computer restarting there are many causes, including overheating. No harm checking the HD (see post #1) but have you some other reason to think that the HD is at fault?
