how can i please get rid of these

Specs: Windows XP
the computer is

HP Packard Bell
amd athlon (tm)XP2700+
2.16GHZ 1.00GB of RAM
Board model number N9116

when i start comp up i always have to use my xp home installation disk otherwise when it loads without it, i get few things up like.

my network adaptor card im using


and i get
boot by cd
boot by cd

if i dont put my xp disk in to load windows up i get this...

just want a normal bootup.wityhout the boot from CDs and intel thing i get with that MAC ADDY?

so how can i get rid of all of this please???


frustrating me this me i no alot about comps but this puzzles me bigtime

So you want to boot directly from prob...

Go to BIOS >> Advanced BIOS Features >> Set HDD as first boot device >> Press F10 >> Press Y >> Press Enter...

i no all that, just wanna get rid of the 2 boot from CDs and mac addy im getting

i tryed that and still get the same.

i on my F8 what shall i boot that bit from ?

HD, or CD or lan one m8?

and do they have to say hd in bios and hd in f8 boot device ?

I would suspect your hard drive died which is why the other boot options are coming up.

To answer your last question set HD 1st, cds 2nd and 3rd and then try other devices as 4th

Sounds like it is already set this way.

nope still didnt do it. i went and did a utility checks on my hard drive and its fine nothign wrong with it

If the drive checks out, set in bios as first boot option, and it still doesn't boot this would indicate the master boot record is missing.

First step is go into recovery console and run fixmbr, fixboot and bootcfg /rebuild.

If still no go do a repair install [not new install] of xp.
