this may seem stupid...but how do i format?
i want to install my winxp pro but before that, i want to format my two hard drives (20gb & 15gb)...i have a win98 boot disk with fdisk on it, but i can't find a format

thanks for any adive...p.s. this site is amazing, i'm really glad it exists, i don't know what i'd do with out everyones help

You don't have to format your hard drive using your bootdisk. just type FDISK at the a prompt, hit yes till you get the menu option. And delete your partitions.
Reboot and change the boot sequence at the bios, save and exit. reboot with your xp cd
The setup program will format your HDD for you and install XP under NTFS file system(recommended)

XP Pro will not boot up in dos.
Use the boot disks. You already have all the answers in your previous post!
I suggest you read it.
