Hello,
how can i enable or disable ping to my computer made from other comps from the lan network, without any firewall installed?
i just want tht all the pings made to my comp should reply "request timed out", where i can still be online (i use shared cable connection connected through lan) ?

You can't, not without re-writing the TCP/IP protocol or installing a Firewall.

why not use a configurable firewall? You absolutely need it for the internet anyway, right?

ok ... i gotta install a firewall then ... i didnt want to install tht because tht makes system go slower :( an with my 2-3kbps net speed .. tht makes it crawling :(
