I am trying to create a partition for WindowsXP PRo, so that it can be on it's own partition. but i am having problems trying to do so. I am installing the FULL version of WinXP PRO. Cause i don't want to deal with WinME anymore. I am currently using Partition Magic 7.01.
Yes i know for some it easy but there are others trying to learn here, so can some of u please kindly help me by giving me the steps to make this partition. I know im gonna loose data but it's all good i rather have the OS files on a seperate Partition.

Check in BIOS that CD-Rom will Boot first
Then Boot from the XP CD
Watch carefully and it will say "To Boot from CD Press any key"
You can then Partition (however you want to)and Formmat using the XP CD

If you can copy important stuff you need, and get rid of ME that would be best!!
But since ME is installed, create a boot disk in the ME utility under my computer.
Or if a friend has windows 98 use that one intead. Boot with the floppy drive disk inserted. Run the after boot up is done, just type in FDISK and set the partitions up.
Get a paper and pencil ready, I recommend you review the "display partitions" menu first. Then you will know what you have now, and what you can do for partition sizes.
Partition Magic is great utility, but the easiest way is good ole DOS in many cases.
