Hours in excel

Specs: Windows 2000
When I type in hours and minutes, the end result is a date and time which is incorrect. 38:18 ends up being 01/01/1900 15:27:00. How do I get the 38:18 to stay in the cell.

Custom Format

[H]:MM:SS

Delete the seconds if you don't need them.

I don't know that answer but you would get better responses by posting Excel questions in the Office software forum.

That is OK, but folks that have your answer are more likely to browse in the Office Software Forum. If you elect to repost change the title of your post or both may be removed due to double posting. You could wait here first and see if you get the needed information.
