I have been hijacked by the home search assistant. When i try to remove the programs I get the message 'unable to open looking-for' I have tried hijack this and other suggestions with no luck. Can any body help me. This thing just keeps returning right after I delete it.

I tried it and it worked for a second. This little buger won't go away. It resets itself almost immediatly. Thanks for the tip though.

Here's a solution that works!

I worked on the Home Search Assistant for 20+ hours and it kept coming back, but the secret to the procedure listed on the above link, is that you put your computer in safe mode, and shut down a couple of services before doing the about blaster and hijack this.
Apparently the hijacker actually creates or uses a windows server on top of all of those dat files, dll files, registry entries, and IE changes. It's really the worst thing I've ever seen for a marketting trojan.
so just go to the above link, and follow the instructions to the letter. You'll be alright.
