Hi, I am trying to do home networking using XP Pro on my main machine and ME on a secondary machine. The machines see each other ok and everything, but when I try to access the printer or a shared folder on the XP machine from the ME machine I get a log on prompt asking me to enter a password for IPC$. I have tried entering the administrator password for the XP machine but it is rejected. Any ideas on what setting needs to be changed ? Oh and BTW I made a networking disk from the XP machine and ran it on the ME machine to try and get this set up. TIA

Go to Control Panel open Printers and Faxes right click on your printer select Sharing select Share this printer and add drivers for Windows ME. Now try it.

No joy. When i try to access any resource on the XP machine from the ME machine whether it is a shared folder on the hard drive or the printer an "Enter Network Password" window pops and requests a password for the resource \\XP_machine\IPC$ no user generated passwords from the XP or ME machines are accepted as valid passwords. Leaving the password field blank also is rejected as an improper response. Anyone have any other ideas ?
