Hi,
I am attempting to create a network between a Win 98 and a Win XP computer, although I cannot use the floppy disk with the network setup program created on the XP computer on the 98 pc, as the floppy disk always corrupts the file, I have attempted to manually setup the network although I cannot get any further than going through the network settings. I would appreciate if somebody could give me a link to a guide for this or if I could have a step by step description of what to do.
Thanks,
Joshua Roots

Try this site:
www.wown.com
It has a lot of stuff there.
Or.
Connect the twist cabel to both PCs.
Its better to use XP to set it up.
After connecting the cabels, the PC with the XP will detect the connection.
Now rightclick My computer, then Computer name and change the workgroup to say MSHOME or any name. Click on OK and OK.
Now share the drives ( C, D, A) if you wish.
Go to the one with 98. Rioghtclick the Network Neibg.. and click properties\Identification Enter the same workgroup name you entered for the XP and give the PC a name say Win98 in the appropriate spaces.Click OK. Now share the drives on this one too if you wish.
If you are asked to restart do so.
Hope this works.
Get back here and lt us know if it worked.
Good Luck.
