hive file missing (non boot)

Hi, 1 of my pc's will not boot at all. It keeps saying "the regestry cannot load the hive file" corupt missing or not writable.
It doesn't matter how i boot up, safe mode or last good config. it will not boot, so I cannot do a single thing to correct it. I have other pc's I can slave to and try remedy the problem, but the question is how lol. thanks for looking.

Thanks XpUser4Real. Will do lol. I did want to avoid it, but if needs must. I did look through computing archives, and found a user backing up his hive file restored his pc if and when it went belly up on him. May keep that 1 in mind hehe.

Have you considered the possibility that you may have a hard drive problem?? You may want to boot into recovery console and fixboot and fixmbr. It may solve your problem but should not be overlooked.
