Hi, 1 of my pc's will not boot at all.
It keeps saying "the regestry cannot load the hive file" corupt missing or not writable.

It doesn't matter how i boot up, safe mode or last good config. it will not boot, so I cannot do a single thing to correct it.
I have other pc's I can slave to and try remedy the problem, but the question is how lol.
thanks for looking.

you obviously have an XP install disc as your PC is selfmade, so why not do a repair install?

Thanks XpUser4Real. Will do lol. I did want to avoid it, but if needs must. I did look through computing archives, and found a user backing up his hive file restored his pc if and when it went belly up on him.
May keep that 1 in mind hehe.

Have you considered the possibility that you may have a hard drive problem?? You may want to boot into recovery console and fixboot and fixmbr. It may solve your problem but should not be overlooked.
