History Folder Query

Hi all,
why trying to solve an annoyance (below)i found i have 4 History IE.5 Folders on my c drive...especially when i have IE.6 installed.. wondering if i could delete them ..or is it irrelevant

You can delete the contents of the folders. However, you probably will not be able to delete files that belong to the user account you are logged on to. Just log on as a different user to delete them.
Summary: Whenever I clear history folder it ALWAYS leaves 5 - 10 sites unerased which are then visible to all who may look here. How can I correct this so that EVERYTHING is erased! ...
