Comment:

I have had a number of problems with my PC over the past couple weeks, mostly involving what appears to be adware.

The first problem is that, on occasion, when I open internet explorer, the homepage has been reset to the following:

http://default-homepage-network.com/newspynotice.html

The second problem is a rather interesting one. When I serach on google, the first page of results are changed into adds. For example, if I search on google for "Flyers" the first results I get are

Color Brochure Printing
1,000 8 1/2x11 Brochures color both sides $270.00 with discount coupon on home page. No rush charges! Brochures, newsletters, catalog sheets, flyers, postcards from digital files.

and

NHL Flyers Tickets
Ticket Solutions.com is a customer-focused website that provides ticket resources for all events. Offering great tickets for your favorite teams and events. Seating charts and schedules also available

Along with a full page of this type of advertisment. However, if I search for the same word using any other computer, I get what I expect -

News results for flyers - View all the latest headlines
Flyers' Zhamnov emerging from shell in playoffs - Toronto Star - 6 hours ago

It turns out that the second page of search results on my PC match the first page of results I find on any PC, so I'm farily certain it is some sort of adware.

After installing and running a number of antispyware software (spybot, BPS, adaware, pestcontrol, spyhunter) the problems persist.

Here is a copy of my Hijackthis log - any help would be greatly appreciated.

You will need to install and run the following:
Ad-aware 6.0
Spybot - Search & Destroy
SpywareBlaster

You can find these at http://www.webattack.com/freeware/

It took care of me.

Good luck
