Comment:

Got a message when I plugged in a UBS 2.0 device into a 1.1 port. Says something to the effect of high-speed device plugged into a non high-speed port. Anyone know how to get that message to stop popping up? Also, anyone where the options are to change how the computer reacts to new 'mass storage device' (It's my 1GB flashdrive that's been giving me this heart-ache)? - Thanks

In Device Manager, go to USB, right click on your open host controller (there are probably more than one) and select Properties, select the Advanced tab and you'll see a checkbox about reporting errors. Check the box, and then do the same for all of your open host controllers. The error message will not appear after that -- of course, it's really not an error.

What's the problem with your flashdrive?

Go to circuit city (or wherever) and pick up a 5 port usb2.0 card. It'll cost you about 40 bucks.

I have an 80Gb external HD with USB2.0 high speed capability. Running it through my 1.1 port was extremely slow. It took over 30 minutes to move a 700 Mb file. I installed 2.0 card and I can move the same large file in about 1-2 minutes.

And it'll get rid of your error message too :)

the flash drive wasn't really giving me a problem...the second part was just an inquiry as how to change the autoplay features or even just get it to run an autorun.inf file in place of asking if i want to start a slideshow or print pictures or play with media player
