Hello I dont know if this has been address before, but I am looking for a way to hide my network connections in XP. Either third pary software or within XP. I don't want anyone knowing I have access to the internet, while using my comp. I tried creating a second account and that account you can still see it. not log on but see the icon in control panel. And help would be appreciated.

download microsoft's powertoys. The TweakUI program can hide things from the control panel.
Well, since tweakui simply modifies registry stuff, I would assume that there's a registry key you can modify...but it might be complex doing it manually

If you go into your network connection properties, there is a check box to hide the icon. Just make sure it's unchecked.

Thanks for the suggestion, I tried both ideas here listed The tweakUI doesnt have the network connections to uncheck in the list. As for unchecking the network connections in properties I didnt find any just "show icon in notification area when connected"
