I am not writing any code here... I merely want to save the .pdf file without the vertical scroll bar or horizontal headers showing. Can this be done without having to write a new program?
When I click a PDF file, I do not like the Reader opening in my browser.
So I remove that plugin from the Browser's Plugin folder.
Now every time I click a PDF file Windows asks what I want to do with it.
I select Save to Disk.
That would likely depend on the formatting of the page itself, not your individual preference. If it is coded as absolute pixel size (vs relative %), then that size should be retained in the pdf. Your screen resolution preference is not a factor in the "save as..." or "convert to...". On the other hand, in viewing a pdf file, it is super-easy to zoom in/out. in either percentage, or "fit to screen/width/height, etc.". So... where is the problem?
Besides, it depends on the viewer you use, and whatever sidebar option you have selected, and since there is no magical telepathy coming into play...
Additional note: you have not even given a clue about this "saving a pdf file"... is this one you create yourself? One you save from your un-mentioned browser? That kind of info would be somewhat relevant, don't you think?
Sorry, I didn't mean to be quite so vague... This is a .pdf that is found in a company's site that shows its brochures, etc. I access it through Microsoft IE7 web browser. I have Adobe Reader 9 and have tried the internet settings both ways - "display PDF in browser" - or not... I want to save a copy to send to a client. I have tried the Save As from both the Adobe menu & the IE menu as well as the "send page by email". All of these produce a document that includes the scroll bars.
