I had to re-install Win XP Home Edition today on a formatted drive. For some reason, the "Hide Inactive Icons" button no longer shows up. Is there a solution for this problem? I have checked the taskbar properties to make sure "Hide inactive icons is selected".
Thanks!

Mine doesnt always work either after a while it will start to work on its own or you can go to properties and customize and always hide one of your icons and apply and then change it back to hide when inactive .
Sometimes that will work since mine has been up and running for a week or 2 now it will hide them whenever I bootup So it may just be a time related issue that will correct itself

How nice!
I only pray that one day XP and all other products will hide themselves from us "innocent" users.
If this is all your problems with XP, then you may consider yourself as lucky! I have had this thing going on too, but it did not matter so much since I had to format and reinstall the XP again and again and again on a regular basis... until my patience ran out and I installed MandrakeLinux (free from www.mandrake.com) Linux works perfectly, without freezing or crashing or having things and functions to disappear. Easy to convert to using it since you can have it to look and feel like Windows....
Best of luck

my 4 lil images in the bottom left next to the start button and all the images in the programs tab all went to black boxes..I scanned for viruses..performed a disk check and nothing...can somebody help??
Thanks,
GOIN OUT OF MY MIND
